Overview

Videte provides full time computer protection for the family.  It monitors all internet activity, providing a detailed report to the head of household. As an option, the program can be used to monitor all computer activity (games, web surfing, email, etc.). The program has several modules, (Screenshots, Keystrokes, WebSites, Access Log). Each module presents provides information in an easily reviewable format.

Installation

The program installs automatically during the initial signup process.  The initial user (Admin), assumed to be head of household, will be prompted for the administrative password. Once issued, no one can access the program without the password. The program operates in a total stealth mode. It does not appear in the list of program files, start menu, or task bar (optional).  The program cannot be deleted without the use of the password. The program begins automatically every time the computer starts up.

Setup

Upon initial installation, the user will be prompted for a password. This password is used to access the program for module(s) review, or to make any custom changes. All program options are preset to the most efficient/effective settings.  Options are available under the Settings Icon.

Each option is self-explanatory and has definitions within the option window. (See figures 1-x).

Features

Videte provides a total solution for the parent to monitor the children’s use of the computer. Ease of use, is essential for the parent to take advantage of the program’s many features.

Screenshots

Videte takes a full screen capture every 30 secs (recommended or as modified by Admin under program settings). There is no impact on system performance. These images are stored in a compressed format, and available for playback and review by Admin.  The controls resemble an ordinary VCR (play, pause, stop, fast forward  and reverse). Each frame is marked with a date/time stamp listed in the expanded left menu (figure x). Playback can be started from any point. The default settings allow a visual review of each hour of computer use in only 3 minutes.
